Joe Craib - Director & Writer
Joe Craib is a Toronto-based filmmaker who has been making short films since 2012. Born and raised in the small town of Tottenham, Ontario - which he returned to for the production of Empty Nest - Joe studied Film at Queen's University before becoming a fixture of Toronto's independent film industry, working in a variety of on-set roles. His works often explore ideas of obsession, revisiting the past, and characters' relationships with their environments - both built and natural. He actively pursues creating stories and characters that reflect the diverse and complex nature of Canada today, especially for young people. Having previously made films in comedy, speculative fiction, and social drama, Empty Nest is Joe's first horror film.
Sean Meldrum - Producer
Sean Meldrum is a Canadian filmmaker, theatre artist, and musician. He has been noted for his portrayals of emotionally complex characters as well as fantastical creatures. He graduated from Queen's University in 2016 with an honours degree in Dramatic Arts. He was born in 1992 in Oakville, Ontario and lives now in Toronto. "Empty Nest" is Sean's first film as a producer.
